Luck-quacka preface — Uncle Wong, muttering for most of his life
I’m Dominic Wong.
I was born in Kwong Wah Hospital in the 1970s.
As a child, I studied at Hong Kong Szeto Clan’s Association primary school.
My father thought I wasn’t a good student, so he told me to change to an English primary school.
However, my grades got even worse because I really didn’t understand what the teachers were talking about.
I worked as a lifeguard and earned HK$40,000 over the summer holidays after the HKCEE!
In the end, I spent every last penny partying in Lan Kwai Fong, hopping from club to club for four months. My mother kept calling me every night.
Eventually, I got pneumonia.
My dream now is to be a composer.
“tàːi pōu” Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra will soon perform my latest work, Luck-quacka, in the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
I can’t wait to see you all there!
