Ballet
Introductory
In this course, both the Russian and British ballet styles are introduced. Class will start with floor exercise — some stretching,floor barre to experience specific muscle we needed in our ballet training .Following up with some simple barre work simliar to our floor barre. And ended with a bit centre work to find the weight of the body. Class with conducted in a slow paste in order to explain details information.
Target: suitable for beginners students and one’s want details work.

Elementary

Intermediate
To further explore the body and muscle functioning, this course presents an array of jumps, turns and control combinations to enhance students’ technical skills and musicality. Students must have at least 1 year of prior ballet training.
Target: students must have completed at least two years of ballet training.

Pointe Work – Elementary
A continuation of the intermediate training, this course focuses on the fluidity in movement through the unique style of point work in Ballet which reveals the exquisite contour of a dancer. Suitable for students who have completed at least one year of intermediate Ballet training.

This course will focus on Ballet point-work as well as variation. Variation is a solo dance in classical Ballet. Students have to warm up by themselves before class.

Instructors
Loong is currently the Executive Committee Vice President of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and Chairperson of the Royal Academy of Dance, Hong Kong Committee.
Shirley Loong first started learning ballet at the age of eight under the tutelage of Ms Jean Wong. In 1986, she was admitted to the National Ballet School of Canada. Upon graduation, she honed her skills further at the John Cranko Ballettschule in Stuttgart, Germany for two years. She is the first Hong Konger ever admitted to this world-renowned dance institute.
Shirley joined The Hong Kong Ballet as a dancer in 1990, performing many solo pieces and principal roles. Later on, she completed a Degree in Business Studies with distinction at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, and returned to Hong Kong in 1997 to begin her career in dance education. From 2001 to 2004, she was General Manager at the Hong Kong Ballet Group, where she coordinated major productions such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd Young Ballet Stars Award and summer showcases including Cinderella’s Slippers Lost & Found, La Sylphide and Swan Lake.
A registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance. Shirley was also an instructor at the City Contemporary Dance Company, Advisor at the Hong Kong Arts Development Council until 2008, and has continued her service with the Council as Assessor to this day. She worked with The Hong Kong Ballet again from 2005 as the Director of Education and Outreach Department until 2011.
In 2012, Shirley played the role of Princess Moon Wisdom for the Buddhist 4D Dance Dynamics Theatre production, The Dancer of Ultimate Bliss. In 2014 November, her performance in The Buddha’s Path received rave reviews.
Shirley is currently a member on the Executive Board of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, one of the ballet teachers for Gifted Young Dancer Programme at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and dance instructor for the Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection.
Kammy graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majored in Ballet. During her years at HKAPA, she took part in various local and overseas ballet competitions and received several awards. She has worked with different choreographers around the world including Raymond Chai (UK), Anh Ngoc Nguyen (Vietnam), Jonathan Watkins (UK), Iratex Ansa(Spain) and Ian Robinson(USA). She was awarded several scholarships during her studies leading to her exploration in contemporary dance to different countries around the world.
Graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in ballet in 2015.
With her outstanding performance, she has awarded numerous scholarships, such as Dean’s Prize in Dance in 2015, and being the representative of the School of Dance to participate the ImPulzTans Vienna International Dance Festival in 2014.
She joined the City Contemporary Dance Company as Dancer Trainee in 2015-2016.
She is currently working as a freelance dancer, dance teacher and choreographer.
Born in Shanghai, Shirley Lok graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2009 majoring in Ballet.
During her studies she was awarded several scholarships. She has performed widely in Hong Kong and toured with various professional dance companies including The Hong Kong Ballet. In 2007 she joined CCDC’s youth dance ensemble WuDaoQinNian, when her interest in modern dance was sprouted.
She joined CCDC in 2010.
Tasha started learning ballet at the age of eight and was trained at the Hong Kong Academy of Ballet. In 1986, she was awarded a scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to study at the Royal Ballet School of London. Upon graduation, Tasha was invited to join the Hong Kong Ballet in 1988. It took her a mere three years to establish herself as Principal Dancer with the company. In 1994, Tasha joined the Singapore Dance Theatre and has since taken on numerous lead roles in both classical and contemporary repertoires. Tasha has performed in many countries and was the guest artist for Queensland Ballet, the Hong Kong Ballet Group and DanceArt Hong Kong between the years of 2000 and 2004. Tasha is currently a freelance dancer and teacher. In 2003, she was invited to teach ballet at both the Academy and Architanz in Japan.
RAD & Teacher Certificate
Claudeanna Wong graduated and was awarded a high school diploma in Professional Ballet by the Shenzhen Arts School in 2014. In the same year she was admitted to BFA (Hons), Ballet in the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. She graduated and received a BFA (Hons) degree in Ballet with first class honours from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 2018. She was awarded a Ballet Faculty Scholarship in the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.
She worked with many famous international artists including Iraxtxe Ansa, Jonathan Watkins(UK) , Anh Ngoc Nguyen (Vietnam) and Raymond Chai (UK), ect.
After graduated she joined the City Contemporary Dance Company,CCDC Dance Centre she became a part time dancer, performing to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, She also participated in many other performances made by various Dance Companies such as E-side Dance Company, Dances Art dance theatre,MK Ballet Company, Musical Viva Hong Kong, etc.
Claudeanna won various awards in many dance competitions, including second prize of repertoire prize in the 9th (桃李杯) Taoli cup dance contest in the China, the 39th Open Dance Contest in Hong Kong: Ballet Dance Youth B – Gold Award, and the 40th Open Dance Contest in Hong Kong: Ballet Dance Public – Gold Award, etc.
She is active in teaching ballet. She taught students major in ballet in repertoire / variations class at Shenzhen Art School and a ballet teacher at several Hong Kong ballet schools.
She acquired her professional qualification by achieving the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies
(CBTS) of the Royal Academy of Dance, and became a Registered Teacher of the RAD (ARAD), the Royal Academy of Dance Members and attained Certificates of Advanced Courses of Ballet of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
