Belly Dance – Elementary
Belly Dance can express the feminine emotion, passion and confidence. This course focuses on waist and hip movements, which can help developing the strength of both abdominal and hip muscles and to keep an ideal body alignment. At the same time, it can also massage the internal organs in the pelvic cavity which is good for female. Participants will release their instinctive sense of rhythm and aesthetics during the lesson. This helps them to release their emotion in a relaxing and natural way. Egyptian music will be used so that students can get to know the characteristics of Egyptian music.
Target: suitable for all dance beginners and those who are interested in Belly Dance.

Contemporary Ballet – Elementary
Contemporary dance is a style of dance that emerged in the 20th century as an outgrowth of modern dance and other 20th century dance techniques. Pure technique is mainly a barre work with a little centre work. This class is a mixture of classical ballet and contemporary techniques. That leads into sequences exploring dynamics such as weight, suspension and rebound.

Girls’ Hip Hop – Elementary

This course includes the elements of Hip Hop and Jazz. By combining the free style of Jazz with the unique technique of Hip Hop, the exercises emphasised on body coordination and flexibility. Music with strong beats such as Hip Hop and Rap will be used. Choreography addressing the differences between male and female dancers is introduced so that students can find the presentation and style suit them most.

Lyrical Jazz – Elementary
Based on the fundamental skills of Ballet, Lyrical Jazz Dance is a blend of the classical dance blending techniques of Jazz Dance to create a perfect avenue of self-expression performed to contemporary music. Students will gain fluidity of movement, grace, control, individual expression, and self-confidence. This courses has combined the elements of Modern Dance and Jazz, it focuses on using Modern Dance to explore the body towards various possibility in movement and using Jazz to train the body’s reaction. Students will practise a lot of floor movements, so that they can experience the fun of Modern Dance while polishing their skills through incorporating Jazz Dance.

Movement and Body Awareness
In this class we are going to develop our inner potentials of our body through some improvisational practices.
The structure of human body is extremely subtle, it has infinite possibilities for different movements and activities, but in our mundane life most of the people merely using their body only for quite limited ways, such as walking, sitting, lifting..
So much so, improvisational practices not just can help us to warm up our body but also can help us to break through our mental and physical limitations and take them to a higher level. Simply speaking, when our body and mind are becoming more and more flexible, it will be easier for us to learn any new things.
In second half of the class we’re going to focus on move our body and follow the beat of music. Try to feel the freedom or any barriers that emerging from your body during the practice. Rise your inner awareness, put it all on your dance moves. We will also respond to the need of people who want to exercise and shed some sweat.

Yan is now a freelance dancer, instructor and choreographer. She started her Hip Hop and Jazz dance training in 2000 and following graduation she had worked as a dance tutor in several famous Hong Kong academies for Arts, teaching Jazz Funk, Hip Hop and Urban Dance.
In the past decade, Yan taught in numbers of social services agencies, tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools and kindergartens. She is experienced in teaching and always try her best to fit students’ individual aptitude.
Yan and her team also active in commercial event production and performance in recent years. She enjoys challenge, and treasures any opportunities to work with different parties.

Freelance Dancer and Dance teacher
After graduating from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2008, Bobo Lai joined the Guangdong Modern Dance Company (GMDC) as a fulltime dancer after working a year as a freelance dancer. Her early performances at GMDC including works by renowned choreographers, such as Liu Qi’s Upon Calligraphy and Sang Jijia’s Sticks. She also showcased her own works One Plus One Ant and X -85213 at GMDC. She joined CCDC in 2015.

Graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in ballet in 2015.
With her outstanding performance, she has awarded numerous scholarships, such as Dean’s Prize in Dance in 2015, and being the representative of the School of Dance to participate the ImPulzTans Vienna International Dance Festival in 2014.
She joined the City Contemporary Dance Company as Dancer Trainee in 2015-2016.
She is currently working as a freelance dancer, dance teacher and choreographer.
Kate Li was professionally trained and graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Musical Theatre major in 2003. Since then she has been a professional choreographer, performer and instructor for an array of artistic organisations and international corporations.
Inspired by a belly dance master festival held in Taiwan in 2010, Kate started to explore the dance genre and developed her techniques with a diverse range of leaders in the industry including Randa Kamel, Tito Seif, Khaled Mahmoud, Mohamed Shahin, Mohamed Kazafy, Suhaila Salimpour, Tamalyn Dallal, Hadia ,Saida Helou and many more. She also holds the internationally recognised GCBD oriental dance instructor qualification.
Kate is best known for her Romantic Pop choreographies, by combining lifelong professional theatre experience and dynamic Middle Eastern music, audience are captivated by her unique style and charming presence during each performance. In 2017, Kate’s troupe The Sapphire Group (TSG) was found to create theatre-spectacular ensemble choreographies.
She also believes that educating herself is as important as educating others, previous learning and performing expeditions include Egypt, Dubai, New York, England, Thailand, Taiwan ,China and Hong Kong.
Kate believes that every woman is a dancer as dance is originated from our lifestyle: “I sincerely invite you to rediscover your root of femininity and beauty!”

Since 2007, Kate Tsang, who learning from Hong Kong Egyptian Oriental Dance Dancer - Maggie Wong. Start at 2014, she has been learning from the world’s masters, including Aida Nour, Tito Seif, Khaled Mahmoud, Mohamed Kazafy, Mercedes Nieto, Mohamed Shahin, Lubna Eman, Ahmed Refaat, etc. Since 2010, she has taught Egyptian Oriental Dance in different institutions and organizations, including HKCTU, CFSC, Methodist Centre CES, and the Police Department’s Civil Service. Fortunately, she has the opportunity to participate in the individual and group performances of the Nile Group Oriental Dance.
